This is Jennifer Hendricks, assistant principal of S.S. Dixon Primary School, with an important message for parents and families. We are conducting a lockdown drill at school today as part of our regular emergency drill process as required by state law. We know that drills can cause possible concerns for our students, but we believe it’s important for them to know exactly what to do in an emergency and these practice drills enhance their safety. Again, all students are safe, and this is simply a required lockdown drill. Thank you for your understanding and support.

Good evening, Primary Patriot families-
We are gearing up for a busy week at SSDP! Please take a look at the flyer so you don't miss out on the fun.

We are excited to announce that our School Improvement Plan (SIP) for the 2025-2026 school year is now ready for your input! The School Improvement Plan, or SIP, is our guiding document that outlines the goals and strategies we will focus on to enhance student learning and overall school success in the upcoming year.
Your feedback is incredibly important to us as vital stakeholders in our school community. We welcome your insights and suggestions to help shape a plan that best supports our students and families. If you would like a draft copy of the SIP emailed to you, please let us know by reaching out to Mrs. Hendricks via email at hendricksj@santarosa.k12.fl.us. You will also able to find the draft copy on our school webpage for your review. Once you take a look at it, you can also email any comments, questions, or concerns regarding our SIP to hendricksj@santarosa.k12.fl.us as well.
Thank you for partnering with us as we are #raisingpatriots!

We have two important events happening on Tuesday, August 26th! Please mark your calendars + see the flyers posted on our school page for more details!
To start the day, we will have our Volunteer Orientation in the cafeteria at 08:30 a.m.. This meeting is for anyone interested in volunteering with us this school year.
Next, at 9:00 a.m., we will hold our first School Advisory Council (SAC) meeting of the 25-26 school year. Although only members of the council are able to vote, all parents/guardians are encouraged to attend our School Advisory meetings.

Up first-
Here are some reminders from our front office to remember once school begins!

Happy Tuesday to our SSDP families!
We are working hard getting everything ready at school to ensure the *BEST* Back to School experience possible for all of our Primary Patriots returning in just a few short weeks!
In an effort to keep you all as informed as possible on events that are happening around campus, we are proud to share the SSDP calendar with you for the 25-26 school year! Grown ups- this calendar was created with you in mind! It is our goal to stick with these dates as closely as possible, but please know they are subject to change when we experience events that are out of control. Each Primary Patriot will receive a copy of this calendar in his/her take home folder/binder at the beginning of school, so please use this to stay in the know with all things Dixon Primary. In the meantime, snap a screenshot so you have it handy, and get ready for a fantastic school year!
