A special shoutout to Easton, who blew us all away with not ONE but TWO perfect scores! 🌟 Your commitment to excellence is truly inspiring. Keep shining, guys! 🙌

What an incredible afternoon at the Hobbs Middle cross country meet! Four schools—Hobbs, Avalon, King, and Wallace Lake—came together for a great day of competition, sportsmanship, and school pride. Each runner gave their best effort, and the energy and support from families and fans made the event even more special.
Sports like cross country remind us of the values of perseverance, teamwork, and determination. We are proud that Santa Rosa County provides opportunities for our students to challenge themselves and celebrate one another’s successes.
A special congratulations goes to our Hobbs Jaguars for an outstanding showing! Luke Lomoriello ran a phenomenal race, taking first place by a wide margin, and Greyson Ehart showed grit and heart, earning second place in a thrilling photo finish that he pushed through all the way to the line.
We are proud of all of our runners and grateful to the coaches, families, and schools who made this event possible. Go Jaguars! 💚💛

Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we review student grades, we have noticed that some students currently have failing averages. Only students who have turned in all assignments will be eligible to recover a failing grade through our course recovery program.
If a student has three or more zeroes in a class and fails, they will not be allowed to make up that grade through recovery. Instead, they will need to focus on improving performance during the next grading period to pass.
We encourage you to partner with us in helping your student stay on track. Please reach out to your child’s teachers or guidance counselor for support with assignments, tutoring opportunities, or strategies to ensure success moving forward.
Thank you for your continued support.

From the EDSITEment website (edsitement.neh.gov):
September 17th is Constitution Day, commemorating the day in 1787 when, at the end of a long hot summer of discussion, debate and deliberation, the delegates to the Constitutional Convention signed America’s most important document. George Washington, on behalf of the Convention, transmitted the proposed Constitution to the Congress assembled under the Articles of Confederation. Eleven days later, the Congress by unanimous resolution passed the proposal on to conventions of delegates to be chosen in each state. It was in these state conventions that the Constitution was thoroughly discussed, debated and eventually ratified.
The United States Constitution is the oldest written national constitution still in operation, and many of the nations that have established themselves in the centuries since have turned to this document as a model for their own constitutions. As a document that defines the structure of our federal government and delineates the rights of the states within the union, and of individual citizens within the nation, the Constitution has become a symbol to Americans and to the world of our political principles and the democratic way of life that flows from them.

🎉 Happy National IT Professional Day! 🎉
Today, we proudly celebrate Mr. Hansen and all of the incredible work he does for our school community. Mr. Hansen isn’t just the person who solves every tech issue (usually before we even know it’s a problem!)—he's also a dedicated mentor, supporter, and leader.
Whether he’s keeping our systems running smoothly, helping a teacher troubleshoot in a pinch, or staying after hours to host student clubs, Mr. Hansen always goes above and beyond. His commitment to both our staff and students is unmatched. He shows up, stays late, makes time, and truly cares—and it shows in everything he does.
Thank you, Mr. Hansen, for your tireless work, your patient spirit, and your constant investment in our school. We are better, smarter, and stronger because of you. 👏💻❤️

🌟 WICOR Spotlight 🌟
In Ms. Weekley’s Learning Strategies class, students practiced a partner interview activity to strengthen active listening and begin developing note-taking skills. Each student worked with a classmate to ask and answer thoughtful questions, then recorded their partner’s responses. This activity highlighted multiple WICOR strategies: ✍️ Writing to capture ideas, 💡 Inquiry through asking questions, and 🤝 Collaboration by engaging in meaningful conversations. Students not only practiced essential academic skills but also built stronger classroom relationships as they got to know one another better. 💬✨

🌟 WICOR Spotlight 🌟
In Ms. Ratajczyk’s math class today, students practiced their WICOR skills through Writing, Inquiry, and Collaboration! ✍️ For Writing, they took notes to strengthen their understanding. 💡 For Inquiry, they answered the bellwork question: “How do you think inequalities are similar to equations?” 🤝 For Collaboration, they worked together in a matching game, pairing inequalities with their corresponding graphs. Way to go, Jaguars! 🐾

✨ WICOR Spotlight! ✨
🎉 Our Jaguars in Ms. Piechocki’s math class had a blast practicing their math facts with Multiplication Splat! This fun, fast-paced game let students use WICOR strategies in action—writing down answers and strategies, asking questions and noticing patterns, collaborating with teammates, staying organized to keep the game moving, and reading problems quickly to splat the right solution. It was a perfect mix of learning and fun, and our Jaguars showed that multiplication can be active, engaging, and exciting! 💚

🌟 Our Student Government Association (SGA) is stepping up to make a difference! 🌟
We’re excited to share that SGA is hosting a fundraiser in support of the Ronald McDonald House, an organization that provides comfort and care for families with children in the hospital. 💛🏠
This is a great opportunity for our Jaguars to show their generosity and community spirit while helping families in need. Every contribution—big or small—goes toward making sure parents can stay close to their children during challenging times.
Stay tuned for details on how you can participate and support this amazing cause. Let’s come together and show what Jaguar Nation can do! 🐾💚
